Overview

Cascina Castlet is located in the hills of the area surrounding Asti. It is in the heart of the production area of Barbera and Moscato. It is situated at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level.
In the vineyards that have a surface area of about 30 hectares, two traditional varieties of Barbera and Moscato grapes are cultivated along with a small production of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
In the vineyards the cultivation, the pruning and the harvest are all carried out manually. The cultivation of the land calls for letting the grass grow spontaneously and a periodic cutting of this grass. The fight against the pathologies of the vine are carried out according to the criterion of the advice of technical experts. The composition of the soil is of a clay and limestone nature.

Cascina Castlet has belonged for generations to the Borio family. Maria Borio has continued the tradition of her family since the 1970’s. The winery has been successful thanks to the range of their wines that are rich in personality, new and old at the same time. They are treated in every detail with extreme attention and untiring dedication

We have been awarded certification under the SQNPI, the Italian National Quality
System for Integrated Production. This is a sustainability certificate recognised by the
Ministry for agricultural products obtained using integrated production techniques.
